SPECIAL SESSION
OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE
SOUTH TAMA COUNTY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Board of Directors of the Community School District of South Tama County met on April 4, 2025 for a special session at the STC Administration Office, Tama, Iowa at 4:00 p.m.
On call of the roll the following were present: Elizabeth Dolezal , Rick Hopper, and Megan Thiessen. Joe Hanus and Beth Wiese were absent. Quorum Present. Also present were: Superintendent John Cain, Board Secretary Katie Mathern, Dixie Forcht, and members of the community through Google Hangouts.
Motion by Hopper, second by Thiessen to approve the agenda. All Ayes. The motion carried.
Motion by Thiessen, second by Hopper to approve the Garling Construction Pay Application #18, in the amount of $834,663.23, for general construction. All Ayes. The motion carried.
Motion by Thiessen, second by Hopper to approve the 2025-2026 contracts as follows: either the dollar amount to get to the state minimums or $1,400.00 for certified teaching staff; $0.50/hour increase for all classified staff, except $0.25/hour increase for transportation, and $1,400.00 increase for Administrative Assistants; and $0 - $2,000.00 increase for Administration/Directors after evaluations are completed, as the increase is based upon performance. All Ayes. The motion carried.
Motion by Thiessen, second by Hopper to adjourn the meeting at 4:08 p.m.
