OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE
SOUTH TAMA COUNTY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Board of Directors of the Community School District of South Tama County met on February 19, 2025 for a work session at the STC District Office, Tama, Iowa at 7:30 a.m.
On call of the roll the following were present: Elizabeth Dolezal, Rick Hopper, and Joe Hanus. Beth Wiese joined the meeting at 7:32 a.m. and Megan Thiessen was absent. Also present were: Superintendent John Cain and Board Secretary Katie Mathern.
Motion by Hopper, second by Hanus to approve the agenda. All Ayes. The motion carried.
The Board reviewed and discussed the Certified Budget (Aid and Levy) for the upcoming fiscal year. This session was dedicated to gathering information and deliberating on various options, with a strong emphasis on fiscal responsibility to ensure the long-term financial health and sustainability of the District.
The Board discussed the Career Connected Learning position and reviewed the associate job description during the work session. This discussion focused on the role’s responsibilities, expectations, and alignment with the District’s goals for workforce development and student career readiness.
Motion by Wiese, second by Hanus to adjourn the meeting at 9:01 a.m.
